I'm really not very good at all this blogging stuff. I feel that my makes & things that i do (not that i do much) are very good or interesting & nobody would be interested in seeing & reading about them. I did make a few things over the summer, but not much has I've not been to good with my health but I'm not going to bore you with that.
We did go down London for the weekend for my birthday in June, myself, hubby & daughters. We had a great time, we went on a river cruise, the London eye which i really enjoyed & shopping in Covent garden. While we were in one of the shops there we heard a lot of horns blowing & people cheering so not knowing what was going off we went over to one of the windows & there was a procession of naked people on bikes, skateboards, walking or running going past. It must of gone on for over a mile. Some of them had tops on & some had underwear (well almost underwear), but most had nothing but some body paint. Apparently it was national naked day (Of all the weekends people go down there we went on national naked day. You would of thought i had planned it that way, but i didn't plan any of it my husband & daughters planed it for me).
What i have been up to is some crocheting & card making. I've made my mum a little blanket to go over her knees when she's out & about on her mobility scooter for when the colder weather is here (which is now as it's cold & wet at the moment). I made a blanket for one of my daughters to go on her bed. I also made a bigger one for my dad as he gets really warm in the summer & he can sleep with just his blanket & when not in use it can be folded up & laid over the bottom of there bed, but then again it can also be used in the winter for some extra warmth. Then this month i made a card for my mum & dads 51st wedding anniversary. I also made a draw box with an easel card on the top (from Hunkydory) for one of my best friends 50th birthday later this year.
My hubby & myself also made some pen storage for my Spectrum noir pens. My hubby got some plastic boxes from work. He sawed one in half just below the shelf & then he sawed a lid into strips which we used for the shelves & middle supports. We glued them into the box using hot glue. I then covered the box using some fabric paper i got from the works for £1.99 per roll. I used a patch work effect one to cover the outside of the box & the other one, it has little red apples on to cover just the front edges of the shelves. I then used the black Spectrum Noir pen to colour in the side edges of the shelves & also the front edge of the supports. I'm really really pleased with, it holds all of the pens & it is easy to move so i can use it at my craft table or if I'm having a bad day & stuck on the sofa i can have at my side & still do some crafting
Last week i treated myself to an overlocking (serger) machine. It was one of Lidi's offers of the week. It's the Singer 14SH754. My hubby looked on there website & it's on there for £238 (on offer) was £289 i paid £129 for mine. When we went in we went straight to them, they had 5 machines left. Then we went a walk round & when we past them again just before paying they had ALL gone we were there for less than half an hour. One lady had two, she said there not both for me lol then she said i already have two at home ( I hope she meant two different ones). I also brought some overlocking yarn from there, it was about £1.75ish or 2 for £2 so i brought 4 white, 4 black, 2 grey, brown, tan & navy ( well i need some yarn to have a play with). They also had the Singer Brilliance for £99 with an extension table & some extra feet. If i hadn't already got a sewing machine i would of brought that as well. I know a lot of people have more than one machine, but i don't do all that much sewing. I do love it & i have quite a few projects on the go at the moment or in the pipe line (well in my head) so i couldn't justify having another machine.
I'm just about to start my christmas cards (i know I'm a bit late), but every time I'm about to start them something seems to pop up. But ah ho as long as there done in time.
